Questivus is a Questival-like activity (9 challenges below) with teams of 1-3 using Google Slides to post your 15 second videos  

Getting the video clips transferred from your phone to your Google Drive to be inserted into your Google Slides will be the challenge!

1. Create a team logo. Make a video explaining your logo

2. Interview a stranger (not a science teacher) and have them explain how the seasons work

4. Interview a stranger (not a science teacher) and have them explain (by drawing) how a battery, light bulb, and switch work

5. Take a picture with your favorite campus art

8. Create a video thanking a friend/family/teacher/coach for the impact they have had on your life. 

9. Perform a random act of kindness. Do something meaningful and make it count!

WEEK 4 ESCAPE!   [CB]

Escape/Breakout games are hot right now, especially in education! 
Between Spokane and Coeurd' Alene there are at last count
6 Escape Room experiences.

To promote this engaging learning format I have developed a hack-able app and lesson template. It is my hope that you will create and share your own, design them for others, and enjoy the same excitement I have entertaining and enriching others.

Phase 1

DIGITAL PORTFOLIO

E-portfolios provide a rich resource for students,  faculty, and employers to learn about your interests and achievements.  It is the current and best way of showcasing who you are and who you are becoming.

Using Google Sites, create a 5+ page digital portfolio, PUBLISH and share the link via Schoology  
For maximum points, include:

• original/personal/local graphics, color themed/coordinated

• advanced features e.g. photo gallery, embed videos & maps

• Each page (5) has a different topic e.g. awards, jobs, hobbies, sports, personal projects, community involvement, independent studies, favorite musicians/teams/games...

When ready to SUBMIT, first PUBLISH (name with your student account e.g. 24jsmith), then VIEW, then copy site address link.

Week 7 GOOGLE SLIDES + QUIZ  [CB]

Create a GOOGLE SLIDES that teaches someone something, e.g. your hobby, seahorse facts,  go-cart fundamentals...  NO basic lessons like : How to make Cup-Noodles, a peanut butter sammy, your bed, facts about you...

• Must be at least 10 slides, original, not too simple, include multiple graphics/screenshots

  • 1 LESSON TITLE slide with your name

  • 8 informational slides

  • 1 ending slide with the words "TAKE QUIZ" done in "WORD ART"

• Use slide animations and transitions. Embed a video if appropriate.

• SUBMIT Share link through Schoology (Create TAB).

NEXT,  create an 8 question auto-graded (points) QUIZ over your previous slides 

• Pick a matching theme and top graphic.

• Click on the SETTING (gear icon) and choose the QUIZZES TAB and activate 'Make This A Quiz" so you can choose the correct answers and assign points for auto-grading and mark "required". 

• Click the SEND button, choose the link🔗 tab and COPY. 

• Now, go open your previous SLIDE Lesson (Slide #10), select the WORD ART words "TAKE QUIZ", click on the insert LINK icon and PASTE-APPLY. 

• NO questions requiring knowing slide number references, steps, or order

Follow THIS VIDEO TUTORIAL  OR  THIS WEB TUTORIAL and then complete an ORIGINAL DOUBLE sheet that demonstrates FORMATTING & FORMULAS (SUM & PRODUCT).

• Sheet TAB 1 should be a budget with various quantities of at least 10 different items (item description, item quantity, item price, item sub-total, list sub-total, tax, grand total)

• Sheet TAB 2 should be your current assignment grades in this class (lessons, points, points total, grade %)

  • Make sure you are logged into your CHROME browser

  • PLAY INTERLAND and try to score at least 1200 for all 4 levels. When ALL 4 are completed, click EXPLORE LEARNINGS to reveal the screen with ALL 4 scores. Take a FULL SCREEN SCREENSHOT SHOWING ALL 4 AREAS and SUBMIT in Schoology!

• POST-TEST in Schoology

If you want to pull up your scores later (same computer and same browser) click on the avatar in the upper corner and click EXPLORE LEARNINGS.

Week 11 Create 3 Animated Gifs using PISKELapp   [CB]

• Create 3 quality 20+ frame (multi-layer) animations --- Simple 90° rotations, translations and patterns don’t count.

• Make notes of needed improvements

    with teacher's help (casters first!)

Learn to code the EASY WAY using Microsoft's MAKECODE platform! Create a MICROSOFT account.
