Path of the Dev
I have coded games since 1980 and collaborated on hundreds of projects since then and helped thousands of game design students since 2002. One thing I have learned the hard way (in terms of becoming a game developer/coder) is the BEST AND MOST EFFICIENT PATH to get there:
PICK A DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT,
i.e. Unity, Godot, Fusiom, GDevelop, Construct...
Choose and complete an "introductory tutorial"
to learn the layout and basics.
PLAN A PROJECT!!! (keep it fairly simple)
When confronted with a problem USE the tool's HELP DOCS, WIKIS, API, DISCORD or search for short specific highly rated YouTube solutions
